A family-run tea room where you’re sure to receive a warm welcome. The friendly owners have cultivated a cosy ambience in the quaint surroundings of a converted stable. The popularity of this charming venue is undoubtedly due to the sublime quality of the home-made food, where even the bread is made on the premises.
This commitment to producing only the freshest food means this is not a fast-food venue but is well worth the wait. Once visited, this is a place to which you will surely return.
Unfortunately started terrible with the manner by which we were spoken to on arrival dont know the mans name but the waitress told us he was grumpy due to being up late making bread, no excuse for the rude treatment we had. However, the lovely waitress came after us as we decided to leave, asked us to go and have a coffee which we did and the cheese scones we decided to have were lovely, price not to bad for the coffee or scones. Whether we would go back again, I dont know. Best advise we can give is dont go later than 2pm. They close at 3pm and we went in at 2.15 and that was when grumpy appeared without a nice customer service attitude
It was our mums 80th Birthday today and thought she would enjoy a trip out to Alnwick and The Old Stables Tea Room. Can’t recommend this lovely tea room enough. The food is always amazing and homemade. We had a great lunch, and just about managed to squeeze in cake/cheesecake. Avril and family always make you feel so welcome and were kind enough to pop a birthday candle on top of mums cake ….mum was over the moon. Also have to add that my sister has several food intolerances which were catered for with no fuss.
what an absolute find.
The food is just delicious.
such a relaxed atmosphere.
quiet and friendly.
you want a treat whilst in Alnwick then pop here.
just yummy.
