Came for Fire & Fork night & was very disappointed in the service. Our waitress didn't understand the menu - we asked questions about several items & her answer always started with 'I assume'. Don't assume! Know your menu & find out! We ordered 2 portions of patatas bravas (which aren't the real thing by the way, they're small baby potatoes with garlic aioli, chipotle dressing & the onion bits you get on the salad bar at the Harvester). We asked for a portion without any chipotle dressing & when they came, both portions were in the same dish. When the waitress had finished bringing our food, we flagged this to her & she said she'd speak to the chef. Another 15 minutes went by & we were asked if everything was OK with our food by someone different. We mentioned the potatoes & were told 'she'll come back to you' (meaning the first waitress). Well nobody came back to us until the end of the meal. My friend didn't have any potatoes & the waitress just said sorry, told us the chef had said 'take some from the bottom without the dressing' & just shrugged! One of the steaks we had was extremely rare when it was supposed to be medium & for some reason, they're served on a wooden board (& cut into strips) so all the blood runs off the edges! I can cut my steak perfectly fine thanks but maybe the absence of a steak knife is why they do it. Whilst the concept of cooking on a fire sounds great, in practice it's not the best, especially on a windy evening when you end up covered in ash & stink of a bonfire. Our bill was over £240 for 4 people - poor staff & mediocre food - we won't be returning. Food: 3 Service: 1 Atmosphere: 2 Meal type: Dinner Price per person: £30–40

£6.60 for a pint of soda water and lime!!!! What should probably be the cheapest drink ever. But what they fail to tell you, is they use Fever Tree Soda, so use 2 bottles to get the pint. THIS SHOULD BE COMMUNICATED AT POINT OF ORDER. The Tuning Fork is a lovely place to visit for breakfast and lunch and the cakes are to die for. However, when it comes to the Friday BBQ dinners, think twice. It's not you're typical BBQ.. Food is, let's say, different. Didn't do burgers for adults, so had a child's smashed burger, which came out partially raw. Sent it back to the kitchen and was told the chef probes all the food, to make sure it's cooked. Well I can assure you It wasn't and knowing an EHO is very handy, as I've been told that serving pink burgers is a big no no, as the mince can carry ecoli and salmonella and does not get properly killed, if it's not cooked all the way through to the centre. Any pink burgers, can therefore lead to food poisoning........and this was a burger from the child's menu! There was 5 of us in the party and the bill came to £145! Overall, the evening was nice, (and expensive) but I would only go back for breakfast and lunch in future.
