My absolute favourite restaurant in Crete! To Parastratima is tucked away just behind the famous fountain, perfectly placed just outside the crowded tourist areas. We ate during quieter times (lunch and around 5:00 PM), which was incredibly peaceful. The food here is truly exceptional—not just in flavour, but in beautiful presentation as well. This was the only restaurant in Crete that we visited twice because we simply had to come back. It offers real Cretan food made with real Cretan heart. I only wish I lived close enough to walk here every day! I wish I could post more pictures, but the food looked and smelled so amazing I hardly remembered. Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

Hallo Katerina, Nectarios, Yanis and Iolanda. We had a wonderful experience at this traditional Cretan restaurant and wholeheartedly recommend it! From the very first moment, we were welcomed with genuine warmth and hospitality, and the owners made us feel completely at home. The food was exceptional every single time, prepared with fresh, high-quality ingredients. We didn't visit just once—we came back several evenings during our stay, and each visit pleasantly surprised us with the same friendly atmosphere and outstanding cuisine. Whether we chose the octopus, moussaka, fresh salads, delicious desserts, or the carefully selected wines, every dish was a memorable culinary experience. The presentation, flavor, and aroma were simply outstanding and made every meal unforgettable. Thank you for your wonderful hospitality and for the amazing evenings we spent at your restaurant. An unforgettable dining experience. Every dish was beautifully presented, full of creativity, and absolutely delicious. The menu keeps you guessing, but every course delights all the senses. You can truly feel the chef’s signature style in every plate. We also chose the five-wine tasting. The wine selection itself was excellent and thoughtfully curated—we genuinely enjoyed every wine. However, we were expecting a true tasting experience rather than simply being served five different wines. As enthusiastic wine lovers familiar with Greek, Bulgarian, Italian, French, Spanish, and American wines and grape varieties, we were hoping for more insight into each wine, its production, style, and the story behind it. That is what, in our view, transforms drinking different wines into a genuine wine tasting. As the restaurant became busier, the wines were also served with noticeable delays, so they didn’t always accompany the corresponding dishes as intended.
