Visited yesterday for a birthday meal for our son. Have visited a few times over the years and the food has always been good. However, yesterday was the exception. Our cutlery was filthy, and I mean FILTHY. Food encrusted in the fork prongs, remainders of gravy on the knives and smears of other food debris. Honestly, it was like they had been threatened with being washed. The lady replaced/cleaned these for us and we lined up for food. The chef could have been a bit more polite.'What meat do you want?' was repeated to every customer. The veg was dry, shrivelled peas, dry crusty stuffing, dry carrots. The gravy was not particularly hot either. On eating, the yorkshire tasted strongly of oil/burnt pan. The roast potatoes were lukewarm. It was really such a let down and we let the waitress know as such. At £12.50 a plate, we expected more. For clarity, this was at the start of food service at 12.15 on a Saturday, so being 'busy' is no excuse. Never again will we visit captain Manby, such a waste of money.
