TL DR: As close as you can get in SF to Chinese street-food bbq. Having grown up eating Chinese food, being disappointed or underwhelmed is the norm whenever I visit a Chinese restaurant. This is not the case for Top SF BBQ! I came here with a friend and we got skewers, the eggplant, and the tinfoil duck blood (trust me it tastes better than it sounds). What I really liked about the skewers were that you could tell they were obviously grilled. Some restaurants get lazy and just microwave their meats (to cut-down on prep/cook time) but not Top SF BBQ. Pro-tip: a good way to tell if you're at a modern Chinese restaurant is by listening to the music and looking at the waitstaff. If they're NOT playing 90s/oldies and the waitstaff look young, the food they are serving is more likely to be the current trend in China.
