5/5 for Vibes, 2/5 for Execution during busy hours. I recently came to Topside for a DJ brunch event. The rooftop atmosphere was phenomenal, and the initial greeting from the hostess and our waiter was prompt and welcoming. However, the experience was ultimately held back by severe understaffing once the rush hit. The Pros:. Vibes & Atmosphere: Calm, relaxing, and great music. The Chicken: I ordered the Chicken & Waffles, and the batter on the chicken was absolute A1. The Cons:. Wait Times: There were only two waiters handling a sudden jump from 3 tables to 8+ tables, plus the bar. Food and drink wait times were unusually long (even the table next to us asked how long we'd been waiting). Food Execution: While the presentation was lovely, the kitchen clearly felt rushed. My waffle tasted like a frozen Eggo and was burnt on the bottom. The French toast was also burnt on both sides. Bottomless Mimosas: Due to the slow service, it's hard to get your money's worth unless you order two at a time. If you are on a time limit, you might only get 3 or 4 drinks in total. The Verdict:. Overall, it’s a great spot to relax, but management needs to prep and staff much better for busy weekend events. Food: 2 Service: 3 Atmosphere: 5 Meal type: Brunch Price per person: $60–70
