See Hayes Valley by default, the clients' piece of advice is to come to this restaurant as well. All the customers adore gorgeous Japanese cuisine at Tsubasa. Make a change from your traditional meal and try perfectly cooked salmon nigiri, salmon and scallops at this place. If hungry, come here for tasty green tea ice cream. Good beer is a decent choice. Many visitors have noticed that you can have delicious iced green tea, matcha or coffee at this spot.

The great location of this restaurant makes it easy to reach even in rush hours. The knowledgeable staff works hard, stays positive and makes this place wonderful. Tsubasa is remarkable for its fabulous service. The designer created a lovely decor. This place scooped the Bib Gourmand award for good meals at fair prices.

We came here pre-COVID and it was absolutely fantastic. We had reservations on a weeknight and were considerably late due to the fact that parking in Hayes Valley is impossible. Eventually we ended up parking on a street that we probably weren't supposed to park on.. but we were about 15-20m late so we'd just given up at that point. Luckily the restaurant wasn't too busy when we walked in - it was around dinnertime on a weekday. The hostess seated us and we opted for the Omakase. I wasn't sure what to expect, I'm admittedly kind of a snob about my sushi and this place is very unassuming in looks and ambiance. However, I am pleased to say that I was happily surprised at the quality of fish, especially at the pricepoint. I'm happy we gave it a go and would happily return if it weren't for the neverending list of other sushi restaurants in SF that I need to try first.

Sad it's gone. Was a great hole in the wall and my fav sushi place in sf. 'Twas convenient and easy to get a table during the week... you will be missed..

We are japanese family and it is our first time to visit Tsubasa Sushi tonight. This is true authentic Japanese Sushi we can find in San Francsico. Our favorite sushi are madai with Yuzu flavor. My suggestion is to stick with Omakase which are waiter/waitress's suggestion. We need to provide our preference so that they can provide the best recommendation. The price is quite reasonable with respect to their quality of sushi. If you look for Japanese authentic sushi then Tsubasa is the right place.
