This bar specializes in British cuisine. You can share nicely cooked hake, mussels and beer battered fish and chips with your friends and spend a nice time here. The Turf should be recommended for good sticky toffee pudding, flapjack and lemon pie. You will hardly forget delicious ale, cider or lager that you can drink. Come to this place for great coffee, tea or hot chocolate.

If I’m honest, we were really disappointed. Service at the bar was incredibly slow, you have to get your own food from a table when you sit outside, our glasses weren’t clean, food was massively disappointing and we only shared chicken wings and chips, wings were tough as hell (a chicken wing to me is cooked so the meat falls off the bone.these felt rushed, the skin was soft, pale and not crispy) chips were greasy and tasted of old oil. It’s such a shame this place hasn’t had good food for quite sometime now and we were hoping the new ownership would have improved this!! You just can’t beat the setting of the turf so it’s a real shame! Price per person: £20–30 Food: 2 Service: 3 Atmosphere: 4

What better way to enjoy a 40th nursing celebration/reunion. Sadly let down by the kitchen closing in preparation for a private event. We were in the queue waiting to give our orders prior to the 15:00 cut off. To be told that’s it folks ! Had to wait 30 minutes for a coffee and cake in place of a meal - beer orders took priority. A young workforce doing their best under considerable pressure. Not the Turf as we knew it, an all day menu with BBQ. The Turf has been shut for several months in preparation for a new brand and opening. The River Cafe is highly acclaimed with lots of hospitality experience. It’s yet to transfer this experience to the Turf. Which opens for a short spring - summer period of the year. Beautifully scenic and relaxing. The Turf has no local competition. Once you arrive by car, ferry, or bike - it’s a captive audience! The Turf is in transition and continues to build on its predecessors. Time is its friend. Price per person: £10–20 Food: 1 Service: 2 Atmosphere: 4
