Overall 2/5 stars. I’ve heard so much about UMI so I decided to give it a try. I had the Madai carpaccio, the spicy tuna crispy rice, the ottoro caviar, and the hamachi caviar. As well as a glass of white wine. The apps were extremely underwhelming, I am very surprised the crispy rice is popular, it’s nothing special in my opinion. The Madai was not good. The ottoro caviar and hamachi caviar were really good, but not good enough to justify the price point. The service was alright. Our server was a guy and he started off strong, but then fell flat. He was sassy which I typically don’t mind, but made comments that came off as overbearingly sassy, which came across in a bad light. Ambiance is great! They were very accommodating as we came late to our reservation. Overall It was good to try out UMI since I’ve heard a lot about it, but unfortunately it did not live up to the hype. Great experience! The food and drinks were fresh, flavorful, and well prepared, and the service was friendly and attentive throughout our visit. Everything came out quickly, and we had no complaints. I’d definitely come back and would recommend this place to anyone looking for good sushi. Price per person: $70–80 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
