After being away for nearly a year we visited Unashige again. Delighted to find that the superb standards have been maintained. The unagi was delicious - prepared in the delicate Kano style. Service from Mori san was warm and hospitable despite our poor command of Japanese. Everyone should consult him and sample his treasure trove of grower’s champagnes. Truly amazing! (Visited 2026/02/17 for dinner) Absolutely delicious unagi meal, a surprising soft and fluffy texture which melted inside of the mouth. I got a ginger ale and a chawanmushi on the side which was of course also delicious with the tender bits of unagi inside. The unagi takes some time to be ready as it is only grilled upon order but this wait is absolutely worth it. Service is also smooth and perfect.
