I like the interier of the restaurant but to be honest I do not know really why. It is made from two rather small rooms which create cozy atmosphere. Maybe even too cozy becasue tables are rather close to each other and there is too intimate - I have felling to have my meal with all other guests :) Sometimes it is good sometimes it is not. Anyway, on the walls there is collection of different pictures, photos, things which do not match each other. Mess? Of course but created intentionally I am pretty sure.
To complete the felling of kitsch sourounding you look how they serve the tea (first photo). I have no idea what to think about that "honey bear" but for sure it is unusual. Someone can say it is sweet, someone can say it is funny but I feel like during breakfast in the kindergarten.
Let's go to the food itself. I had:
Krémová polévka z lišek a brambor s kysanou smetanou (60 KČ) - season offer only
SALÁT SE ZAPÉKANÝM KOZÍM SÝREM, JABLKY A OŘECHY (164 kč)
Rumpsteak na grilu s pepřovou omáčkou nebo houbovou omáčkou (269 Kč)
Steakové hranolky (40 Kč)
This is exact copy from their menu on web page - notice that "KČ" is written every time in different way. Check it yourself - unbelievable but true!
Soup was quite good but - It was my mistake I did not understood description properly - I expected bigger pieces of mushrooms, potatos and vegetables. Maybe this disappointment at the very beggining set up the whole visit. Salad was the best part of the meal, freash leaves, a lot of nuts, very tasty in general. Steak nothing special, souce did not impress me much either but... French fries were extraordinary - big, thick, crispy! One of the best in town! I believe they were not taken frozen from big plastic bag but they made them on their own in their kitchen from potatoes - not very often behavior these times.
My wife took:
Francouzské kachní prsíčko pečené na pomerančích (279 Kč)
Look at the photo of this meal. I hope it explains everything without wasting too many words.
What could be improved? White wine and red wine should not be served to the same glasses (and I do not mean shape) especially in the restaurant which pretends to be on higer level then average.
If you want to eat steak got to Jama (just few steps away), if you want to have duck go to Zariva Perla (or other Vietnamese fast food), if you wanna beer go everywhere else. If you wanna wine remember to ask for the clean glass! I can recommend Universal without doubt if you in mood for good French fries!
