***HIDDEN GEM*** I recently dined at Viet Flavour Restaurant, located at the intersection of Broadway and Burrard, and I must say, the food is a hidden gem in Vancouver. Growing up here, I consider Vietnamese cuisine a local staple, possibly more authentically Canadian than poutine. Despite the ongoing construction and the normal-looking facade, with limited parking upfront, the culinary experience inside tells a different story. The flavors are outstanding—a solid 10/10. We ordered the rare beef pho, spring rolls, and beef stew, all of which were impeccably prepared. The chef truly excels, turning simple ingredients into extraordinary dishes. While the restaurant could benefit from a makeover or a new location (wish the construction would be finished already). But don’t let appearances deceive you. There’s tons of parking behind the building and easy access via a side walkway. It would be helpful if the restaurant put a sign in the back to show which building/parking was theirs, but we found it after a minute. I will definitely return next time I’m on the West side of Vancouver. Parking: The back of the restaurant had tons of parking spots.
