Beer was good. Went with a group of 4 people only 1 left satisfied with the taste of their food. Cheese curds and hot chicken sandwich were ok. The rest of our food very below average. Service was good. Will not be back for food.

Service was so so-slow saw 7 waitresses but very few customers what is the problem? Order desert but even slower! Well at last but not too good! I do not believe I will return unless this place changes.

I spent many a night in my twenties enjoying the splendor that is Water Street. I was skeptical when I saw that one of the beloved eateries of my youth had a sister location in Lake Country where there isn't exactly a hoppin' college bar scene. I had my doubts about their attempt to recreate the food and ambiance of the downtown restaurant in a Delafield strip mall, but they must have brought some Milwaukee magic. We had an afternoon of family fun planned and needed a dinner location that would be pleasing to three little boys, a hungry Dad, and a GF mom. This was definitely the perfect place for us! We started with warm pretzels and fried cheese curds. The curds were reportedly very good and had a light, crispy coating. The pretzels were a kid favorite, despite being pretty standard frozen twists of salty bread. I'm not throwing too much shade about it since they were mostly ordered to keep the troops calm until more food arrived. As for entrees, My GF California burger was top notch. It was a perfect medium, thick patty, and all the right fixins. The only downside was that the GF bun was a bit small for this massive meatwich! The avocado fell off and onto my lap, but I shamelessly ate it anyway. My husband got the BBQ Bacon burger and it was equally impressive and generously stacked with beautiful, crunchy, fried onion rings. Our boys split a cheeseburger and mac and cheese kids meal between the three of them. Both were generous portions, so there was still food left after they all filled up. We were seated in a section with other families, which was a serious load off my shoulders. Nobody batted an eye at our 2 year old playing with his noisy shark toy or the fact that the kids were scaling the booth like a rock climbing wall. In fact, one other patron gave me a hearty wave and mouthed, "It's okay" when I looked around waiting for someone to flip out about our rowdy crew's noise level. Our waitress seemed relatively new, but she did a great job. She wasn't entirely familiar with the menus, but double checked with the manager to make sure my salad was GF. She was also incredibly patient while we took ten minutes to bargain with the children about sharing their food. While this trip was definitely a bit...hmmm...tamer than my previous trips to Water Street Brewery, it was equally awesome. It is pretty cool getting to experience my old haunts in a new way.
