If you appear to be near Sala Santa Rita, you can visit this bar. The menu of Italian cuisine is to the pleasure of all clients here. Try nicely cooked sandwiches, Tramezzini and pizza. Good wine, beer or Spritz are among the tastiest drinks to degust. At Antico Caffè, guests may try good cappuccino or good hot chocolate. Visitors don't highly appreciate gelato at this place.

This spot is famous for its great service and friendly staff, that is always ready to help you. A lot of people think that the dishes have moderate prices. The peaceful ambiance is to be found here. But clients rate this bar below average on Google.

On a recent trip to Rome we took a hop-on/hop-off bus tour of the Roman historic sites. This is a great, inexpensive way to see many places. At the Colosseum most of us needed a restroom, but they are hard to come by, so we hopped back on the next bus and asked the driver where we could find one. He suggested a little cafe across the street at the next stop. This was my parent's first trip to Europe so I tried to build an itinerary that would expose them to the best experiences while giving us a chance to try some places we wanted to visit. Antico Caffe del Teatro di Marcello wasn't on the plan for lunch today, but I went to the restroom and came out and my dad had paninis and Cokes on the table. "These sandwiches looked good. Let's eat." The cafe takes its name from the ancient ruins of the Teatro di Marcello which is right outside and appears to have been established in the late 1800s. It is a small place with a few tables inside and more sidewalk dining. They welcome tourists to use their restrooms which they keep clean. Bless them for this. A good toilet is hard to find sometimes when traveling and their welcoming attitude was appreciated and well worth spending some money on lunch. The paninis were pre-made then toasted in a small oven. They were simple but fantastic in their way. Proscuitto, fontina cheese, perfectly crispy bread. Sometimes the people you are with and the place in time you occupy can elevate the experience. This was certainly the case. I can still hear the staff behind the counter and their friendly, joking banter. The crunch of the bread. We all still talk about how good those sandwiches were. If you find yourself here someday, just be in the moment.
