Wow! A amazing bit of nostalgia revisited! Not only is it nostalgic (for those of us in our 50's) but the food is excellent! Restaurant is extremely clean, well decorated, superb, speedy service! If you are in my age range restaurants like bennigan's or johns garage were the shit! If you were going on a date here you knew things were pretty serious! The girl may wear some kitten heels and maybe even wear some of her mom's channel number 5 perfume, the guy would wear a skinny tie, maybe some old spice or drakar and if he was lucky and his dad was cool, he may give him a few Trojans shall the night become magical! Now onto the food, the montee Cristo was like a time machine back to 1992. Delightfully flavored and a generous portion. The classic cheeseburger was excellent, perfectly seasoned and cooked to perfection. Death by chocolate was as decadant and Devine as we remembered. Highly recommend! This place always hits the mark. Rami and his staff operate nothing like a typical chain restaurant, and that’s a good thing and also why customers keep coming back. Everyone is friendly and the food is always on point. Behind the bar, Chris is top-notch and creates the right vibe and atmosphere and makes phenomenal drinks. Thought all Bennigan's were gone. I am thrilled to know that one is still exists in Elgin! It is so worth the drive (for me) to have a true Monte Cristo again! The food is so good! Staff is so friendly and attentive! Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
