I met up with a family member. The food was delicious and the servi e was great. They were so considerate. We sat outside and it started to rain. They moved us inside. Later, they needed to set up the room we were in. They just allowed us to move to another space. We were there for hours with no pressure to leave. It was a nice experience. And the fries are the best! Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5 Price per person: $70–80

We came for lunch on a whim and left already plotting our return. As someone who cooked French food in New York kitchens for years, walking into Creepies felt like coming home — that particular pleasure of watching someone treat humble Midwest ingredients with real French discipline. The food was excellent across the board. The oeufs were a standout. But the dish that really got me was the corn crepe: the chanterelles were handled exactly right — cooked patiently until they gave up their water, then finished with butter and salt and nothing that got in the way — and the corn itself was a marvel. What looked like a simple purée was, I think, strained corn milk thickened with its own starch, studded with baby corn. A beautiful Midwest summer dish, the kind of thing that only works when someone actually understands what they’re doing. And the vol-au-vent was un petit régal — the pastry crisp and properly laminated, the whole thing light in a way that’s genuinely hard to pull off. Service made the meal. Darien struck the balance every good server aims for and few hit — warm and friendly, never hovering, but right there the moment we needed anything. We had our baby with us, and they accommodated us with such genuine care and helpfulness that we never felt like we had to rush or apologize for taking up space. This is a lovingly run bistro doing very good things with Midwest ingredients in the French tradition. We came for lunch and can’t wait to line up a sitter and come back for dinner. The restaurant was so loud. I felt like I couldn't hear my party's conversation. The food was okay, but not something I would come back for a second time. If I were to recommend something, I'd suggest ordering the Parisian gnocchi and the Saucisson with Puff Pastry & Pistachio. Food: 3 Service: 4 Atmosphere: 1
