A Masterclass in Gastronomic Gaslighting. If you enjoy paying €80 to feel like an uninvited guest at a narcissist’s birthday party, trattoria Da Danilo is an absolute must-visit. The entire experience was nothing short of a theatrical masterpiece:. The decor is a stunning, ego-fueled gallery dedicated entirely to the owner. It’s comforting to know that while your food is being neglected, his self-esteem is thoroughly nourished. We ordered one appetizer. The kitchen, overflowing with psychic intuition, decided we actually needed two. When I pointed out the error, the entire staff was suddenly struck by an overnight bout of selective English amnesia. It was truly beautiful to watch fluency evaporate in real-time right as the bill arrived. Truly, who doesn't want to invest €28 into six groundbreaking, life-changing... meatballs? The pasta managed to achieve the impossible by being completely and utterly invisible to the tastebuds. For the grand finale, my girlfriend’s "tartufo" arrived disguised as a single, melancholy scoop of standard ice cream. The audacity of calling that a tartufo deserves a Michelin star in creative writing. I can only assume Dua Lipa was deeply jet-lagged or hallucinating when she recommended this place. An overpriced tourist trap where the only thing inflated higher than the prices is the owner's ego. PD: Walk 200mts and go to Vecchia Roma instead, fair prices, Great food and service.
