I’ve been a regular at Da Francesco for 25 years — first as a Continental Airlines crew member, then as a visitor twice a year. The pizza is still excellent and the staff are friendly, but the restaurant has become a tourist trap. A bottle of water costs five euros — double what better restaurants nearby charge. House wine is fourteen euros a glass. The wine list is extensive, but most bottles run into the hundreds of dollars, with only a handful under a hundred. The owner has abandoned the hospitality that built this place. Regulars are no longer welcome; the business model is now extracting maximum money from first-time tourists who won’t come back. I felt dirty walking out. Not worth it anymore. Food: 2 Service: 4 Atmosphere: 3 Meal type: Lunch Price per person: €50–60

We booked a reservation for 6 as our last evening in Rome and the last night of our European vacation. We arrived a few minutes early, but they had a table waiting to seat us almost immediately. The service was excellent and the food was even better! It was the perfect end to our Roman stay and we highly recommend Da Francesco for their service, food quality and atmosphere. Furthermore, even with ordering a bottle of wine, and multiple other drinks, we were just over 30€ per person, which we thought was a great value for what we ordered.
