Tucked away on a side street near Piazza Barberini, Hostaria Romana is a charming establishment that serves up authentic Roman cuisine. The ambiance is cozy and casual, with a friendly and attentive staff. The interior design is simple yet inviting, with autographed photos on the walls adding to the local feel. Prices are reasonable for the quality of the food, making it an excellent choice for those looking for a fine dining spot without breaking the bank.
The menu features classic Roman dishes such as carbonara, cacio e pepe, and osso buco, all of which are prepared to perfection. The bucatini all'amatriciana and the fettuccine with porcini mushrooms are also highly recommended. For drinks, guests can enjoy a glass of red wine or Prosecco, or try one of their signature cocktails like the limoncello martini. Soft drinks and sparkling water are also available.
Hostaria Romana offers outdoor seating, perfect for enjoying a meal al fresco on a warm evening. It's a popular spot, so reservations are recommended, especially during peak season. Overall, Hostaria Romana is a must-visit for anyone looking for an authentic Roman dining experience at a reasonable price.

We did our very best to avoid tourist traps while in Rome, but it is pretty unavoidable if you don’t have a reservation elsewhere. Hostaria Romana let us walk in without a reservation. They were very friendly, and had the usual slow pace of a Roman restaurant, which I expected and am not complaining about. The food was very good. It was my first time trying cacio e pepe. I really enjoyed it. While I don’t believe the pasta is fresh, it was still very good. Overall, it’s in the main touristy area, but still a nice place to eat. Arrivederci presto e grazie ancora

This place is awful if you’re an American. I speak Italian and can communicate, yet still treated very poorly. With a reservation confirmed at 830, we were seated at 915. This is fine, but other tables crammed into our area inside (one couple, and another table of 6) both seated 20-30 after we were received their desserts/ after dinner drinks before we even received our first course. The food is mediocre, very simple, nothing to write home about. The other reviews where others say the plates were used, this was true and definitely our experience. Save your time and money, many other places to enjoy, with people more great full for your money.
