After watching Chiesa Evangelica Luterana di Roma, have a meal at Kohaku. The key aspect of this restaurant is the Japanese cuisine. The cooks here prepare tasty nigiri, tempura and sashimi. You will be offered delicious wine. It's nice to try great matcha.
Kohaku is famous for its great service and friendly staff, that is always ready to help you. A lot of guests suppose that the dishes have average prices. You will appreciate the nice decor and peaceful atmosphere of this place. Michelin experts have visited this spot, so it has received the Michelin selection award.

3/5 stars (closer to 2.5 than 3) We visited Kohaku for the Kaiseki menu with sake pairing. The restaurant is elegant and the staff were consistently kind, professional and attentive. A special mention goes to the sake expert, whose knowledge and explanations were excellent and probably the highlight of the evening. Unfortunately, the overall experience did not fully meet our expectations. Service was extremely slow: we arrived at 8:30 pm and by midnight the menu was still not finished. In the end, we left before the final course was served. The biggest drawback was the noise level. Despite the refined setting, it was so loud that we struggled to hear each other while seated across the table, and even the staff’s explanations of the dishes were difficult to follow. For a restaurant offering a fine dining Kaiseki experience, this significantly affected our enjoyment. Some dishes were very good, particularly the chef’s welcome and several of the appetizers, while others felt rather ordinary. The overall quality of the fish and a few of the signature ingredients did not feel exceptional enough to justify the expectations and price point. We left feeling somewhat disappointed. While there were certainly positive aspects, especially the hospitality and sake experience, the overall evening felt closer to a 2.5-star experience than a true 3-star one, and unfortunately not one we would choose to repeat. Dear Monika, thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We are delighted to read your kind words about our team and, in particular, our sake specialist. It is wonderful to know that this aspect of your experience stood out.We are sorry, however, that the evening did not fully meet your expectations. Kaiseki is designed as a slow and carefully paced dining experience, but we understand that on this occasion the timing felt longer than expected.Regarding the noise level, your visit took place on a fully booked Saturday evening. While we always strive to offer a refined and comfortable atmosphere, the lively presence of our guests can sometimes make the dining room more animated than we would wish.We also appreciate your comments on the menu. Our cuisine is rooted in seasonality, simplicity and respect for the ingredients, and we understand that every guest experiences it differently.Thank you once again for your feedback. We truly value it and hope to have the opportunity to welcome you again in the future.Kind regards, Kohaku.
