Service 10/10 The waiter recommended my whole meal which was super helpful since I’ve only had Japanese once or twice! Everything I ate was delicious! The yellowtail sashimi salad was so fresh, tart, & incredible. My favorite was the Chutoro made the chefs way. I wish I would’ve ordered another it was that good. I also had the salmon Nigiri it was delightful! I was walking from Portobello Road Market to Little Venice when I walked by Sumi Restaurant. I decided to stop for a quick bite and I am so happy that I did! I live on Canada's west coast and we are spoiled for choice when it comes to Japanese Restaurants. Sumi delivers on a level that I have never experienced. I particularly appreciated the delicate flavours and textures. The Mushroom Miso had such depth of flavour. The server confirmed my suspicion that the tofu was made in-house. The texture and slightly nutty taste made it a star in the Agedashi Tofu. The broth surrounding it was ever so slightly thickened. Absolutely delicious! My meal ended with the Toro-Taku Temaki, served with grated wasabi. No soy sauce needed here as everything was seasoned perfectly. Thank you, Sumi Restaurant, for the extraordinary experience!
