Marseille is the capital of the Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur region in Southern France. It is the oldest city in the country located on the coast of the Gulf of Lion in the Mediterranean Sea. With its beautiful beaches, historic culture, architecture, and warm Mediterranean weather, it has become a popular tourist destination and one of the most visited cities in France.

The Old Port is the tourism mecca of Marseille as it is a large beautiful marina full of restaurants, shops, bistros, and old attractions such as the Museum of the Mediterranean – dedicated to the history of this city, the Fort Saint-Jean – a 17th-century fortress built by King Louis XIV that stands guard over the Old Port, the Eglise Saint Laurent – one of the oldest Romanesque style churches built in the 12th century. To continue your aesthetic journey, visit Le Musee Cantini and Musee des Beaux-Arts – two of the finest art museums of France, and Notre-Dame de la Garde – a 19th-century church that stands at the highest point of the city.

Here, you can expect to find a few fabulous restaurants to explore and enjoy an expansive and varied dining scene. Whether you are into fine dining, Michelin-starred restaurants, or piping hot street food, Marseille caters to all tastes. I am absolutely thrilled by the Michelin-starred restaurants in Marseille, especially La Villa Madie and Le Petit Nice. The idea of enjoying a scrumptious meal while gazing out at the beautiful Mediterranean Sea has me ready to book my tickets right away. Chef Dimitri Droisneau's menu at La Villa Madie, which includes grilled royal lobster with a saffron broth, rabbit with Palamos prawn in a cream sauce, and veal sweetbreads with celery root, black truffles and lemon zest, has me salivating already. And not to mention the 65 types of fish featured in Le Petit Nice's menu. Marseille also seems like a great city to explore with its rich history, beautiful beaches, and vibrant culture. I would love to visit Marseille someday and indulge in its culinary delights.
